CNBC’s Mad Money host Jim Cramer said that Mark Zuckerberg’s newly launched Threads app “killed Twitter” after it received 100 million downloads in just five days. In comparison, it took Twitter nearly 17 years to achieve the 368 million active users milestone. Meta launched Threads, challenging Elon Musk’s Twitter (X) and boasting features from various apps like Facebook, Instagram, and X. Surprisingly, just a few days after Cramer said that Threads “killed Twitter”, Meta’s new app began to decline. From blue bird to X: Twitter’s rebranding sparks crypto frenzy

Multiple tokens adorned with the label ‘X’ emerged on various decentralized exchanges as Twitter, under the leadership of Elon Musk, initiated a transition from its recognizable blue bird emblem to an ‘X’ insignia. The first indication of this imminent shift was given by Musk in a tweet during the weekend. This was later substantiated on Sunday, July 23, by Twitter’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino. “X represents the boundless potential of a new era of engagement encompassing audio, video, messaging, and even banking transactions, shaping a worldwide forum for the exchange of thoughts, merchandise, services, and opportunities,” stated Yaccarino. “AI will be the driving force behind X, linking us in manners we are just beginning to comprehend.” The transition to X Corp began in April 2023 when Musk integrated Twitter into the newly formed corporation. Around the same period, he registered X.AI Corp., an artificial intelligence startup. Twitt...

Dogecoin soared 23,000% in 2021 — Is history starting to repeat for DOGE price?

Image
Dogecoin's 2021 and 2023 price rallies have largely been sparked by Elon Musk but the latter still has much more room to run if history repeats. The price of Dogecoin (DOGE) has almost doubled after bottoming out at $0.0491 in June 2022, alongside a similar recovery across the cryptocurrency market. On April 20, DOGE is trading for as high as $0.0942, up around 94% versus the last year's bottom. But, despite its impressive rebound, its price is still 88% below its all-time high of $0.76 set in May 2021.  Thus, the DOGE/USD pair remains far from establishing a decisive bullish reversal on longer timeframes. Ironically, DOGE/USD topped after Musk called it a "hustle" during his Saturday Night Live appearance in May 2021. DOGE price entered a prolonged long bearish cycle, furthered by the...

NFTs have a brighter future on Instagram than on Twitter

Image
While Twitter users may be more crypto-native, that doesn’t mean they’re going to win in the NFT arena. The nonfungible token (NFT) industry has experienced some market turbulence over the past few months, but this hasn’t stopped both Twitter and Instagram from making moves into an industry that some estimate could be worth $231 billion by 2030.  This comes off the back of Twitter having recently announced NFT Tweet Tiles and Instagram releasing an array of different NFT-related tools, and many NFT enthusiasts are naturally starting to deliberate which one will come out on top as the go-to social media platform for NFTs. Going by their unique value proposition and recent events, it is evident that Instagram currently has more in its favor than Twitter when it comes to NFT integration. The value of integrating on Instagram One of the key determining factors for upholding Instagram as having more NFT potential than Twitter is its unique value proposition. When looking at Twitter’s core ...
