Ethereum gas fees reportedly breached the $200-mark for certain high-priority transactions in the last 24 hours. Over the last 24 hours, cryptocurrency users began sharing screenshots showing double, occasionally triple-digit transaction fees on Ethereum and Bitcoin. One screenshot showed gas fees were as high as $220 for a high-priority transaction on Ethereum while other screenshots showed figures around the $100 mark. BTC fees haven’t been this high since May. #Saitama #SaitaRealty To Add to Below Post This isn't even Height of Bull Run Already #ETH Gas Fees are Extortionate $175.79 T...

Jack Dorsey’s Block stock jumps as Cash App’s Bitcoin revenue hits $2.42b

Image
Block, Inc. reported a significant 37% increase in Bitcoin revenue in Q3 2023, reaching $2.42 billion, with an overall net revenue boost of 24% to $5.62 billion year-over-year. Block, Inc., spearheaded by Jack Dorsey, has made headlines with a notable 37% surge in Bitcoin (BTC) revenue in Q3 of 2023, amassing $2.42 billion as opposed to the $1.77 billion reported in the same quarter of last year. This leap in revenue is paralleled by a 22% increase in Bitcoin gross profit, escalating from $37 million in Q2 2022 to $45 million in Q3 2023. The uptick in revenue stems from two key factors: a higher average market price of Bitcoin and a spike in the volume sold through Block’s Cash App. Such growth indicates a robust customer demand within Block’s ecosystem. Additionally, Block has witnessed an appreciation in its corporate treasury’s Bitcoin holdings. Despite cumulative impairment charges, the carrying value of its Bitcoin investment reached $102 million, whereas...

Sanjay Raghavan believes that the tokenization of real estate could bring Web3 adoption and provide a diversification alternative for crypto natives. The tokenization of real-world assets has been tipped as a major use case of blockchain technology that could drive Web3 adoption. In episode 35 of Cointelegraph’s  Hashing It Out podcast ,  host Elisha Owusu Akyaw interviews Sanjay Raghavan, vice president of Web3 Initiatives at Roofstock onChain, about tokenized real estate on the blockchain and how digital real estate investing interacts with the nonfungible tokens market and the decentralized finance landscape. Raghavan also talks about fractional nonfungible tokens (NFTs), regulations and the risks related to Web3 real estate platforms. Raghavan explains how real estate is sold on the blockchain using NFTs. Companies that sell real estate on-chain must first purchase the property and create a limited liability company (LLC). An NFT is then created, which is associated with t...

Security or not, Ethereum price looks poised to hold the $1.8K level based on 3 key metrics

Image
Ethereum could eventually fall afoul of the SEC, but at the moment, key data points suggest ETH is poised to hold the $1,800 level. Ether’s (ETH) price retested $1,780 after the news of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suing cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and Coinbase but it’s not preposterous to suggest that Ether bulls should be more than happy that its price did not break below the 67-day support.  The SEC actions are actually a double-edged sword for Ethereum and on crypto Twitter, some analysts attributed the bounce in Ether as a result of it not being listed as a security in either of the cases brought against Binance and Coinbase. For instance, the SEC explicitly mentioned BNB, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA), which are direct competitors to Ethereum’s smart contract processing capabilities. However, as noted by analyst Jevgenijs Kazanins, Ether’s omission does not mean that it has the green light from the SEC. SEC did not mention #ETH in the list of tokens that i...

This Crypto Protocol To Roll Out AI Trading Tools for DEXs

Artificial intelligence [AI] has evidently been taking over the world. While most of them were employing AI tools to predict the price movement of assets, Fetch.ai decided to take it up a notch. Decentralized exchanges (DEX) are getting a new set of improved trading goods from Fetch.ai. The Cambridge, UK-based company has been sticking to developing AI tools for crypto . Now, the network seemed to be taking over the decentralized finance [DeFI] space as well. Fetch.ai hopes to make it easier for DeFi users to carry out peer-to-peer [P2P] transactions by utilizing “agents” powered by AI to conduct trades based on user- defi ned criteria. The slew of trading tools is expected to launch later this quarter. Humayun Sheikh the CEO of the firm said, “Users submit their orders to an agent, which then puts it in escrow or an atomic transaction while it works out where it can do the order matching. The ability of the platform to find and create liquidity is where the platform comes into itse...

How will the Shanghai upgrade impact ETH price? Expert explains

While it may cause downside pressure in the short run, the Shanghai upgrade will be extremely bullish for Ether's price in the mid-to-long term, according to Vivek Raman. While it may have some short-term negative impact on the price of Ether (ETH), the upcoming Shanghai upgrade will be extremely bullish for Ethereum's native token, as it will attract more capital to staking and increase the network's security, according to Ethereum researcher Vivek Raman.  The Shanghai upgrade , scheduled for April 12, will allow network validators to withdraw funds that have been locked to secure the network since December 2020. The upgrade will complete the network’s transition to a proof-of-stake system, which started last October with the Merge. Around 18 million ETH will be available for withdrawal following Shanghai. According to Raman, that may lead to some selling pressure on ETH's price in the short term. However, in the long run, the ability to unstake Ether will “de-risk...
